Supporting the Teachers and other Professionals
TaMHS Billingham works right at the heart of the educational community to make accessing information, support and training more immediate for anyone working with children. We believe it’s vital to not only equip staff to assess and work with children’s mental health issues but to provide key support to minimise staff burnout and stress. Ask about:
-
Training in active listening skills which can alert staff to mild mental health concerns and how to work with them
-
Nationally recognised training programmes covering the CAHMS Everybody’s Business project, backed up with supervison
-
Accessing a counsellor to provide confidential, one to one sessions on specific days, at set times in school or at a central, confidential location
-
Drop ins for anyone working in schools, either on or off site, before or after school to offer additional support
-
Tapping into local resources and networks to promote inter-agency development
